You ever think, "is my lotion healing my skin? Is it harming my skin? Why don’t I understand these ingredients, let alone be able to say it?" These are questions which I began to ask myself as a young person growing up in Barbados and , later, in Brooklyn.

Moving Past Synthetic Skin Products

Our skin shows us what’s going on internally with blemishes, dry skin, and acne; we affect it ourselves by what we put on it as it also enters into it.

If you don’t think a lotion, crème, or cleanser ingredients aren’t getting into your skin, and blood stream, you must understand that the companies who promise customers results want them to continue with their products. Affecting the skin and subsequently the blood stream are means of retaining customers.

For example, nicotine patches and birth control patches promise us that their chemicals will enter into your bloodstream and provide what they say it will provide. In a similar way, as popular lotions, crèmes, and cleansers stay on the skin anywhere from thirty-ninety days, their chemical compositions move down beyond the skin's exterior.

Providing Natural Solutions for myself and Other

I started the Havyn skincare brand to give more focus to the use of therapeutic essential oils, organic butters, and organic base oils. When placed on your skin topically, these naturally occuring ingredients nourish and heal the skin from within.

The organic cleansers, moisturizers, toners, astringents, body scrubs, and perfumes I create are composed of plant-based ingredients which naturally possess antibacterial, antiseptic and healing properties.

I wanted Havyn to provide natural products made from only natural ingredients to natural bodies.

My Entrepreneurial Journey...So Far

I count myself lucky to be able to work on a vision with a mission that serves a purpose. Having a business plan, I can properly bring that vision to fruition.

While my business plan has changed and adjusted overtime, organization and realistic financial projections have allowed me to ride the waves that come with business. With time, Havyn skin care products and my mission for it will reach more and more individuals.

I can't wait for the day that this young woman from tiny Barbados with troubled skin makes a huge difference for tens of thousands of people with similar obstacles, giving them a new perspective on their skin and overall health.
